ARGH! Nobody in my church seems to be excited about evangelism.

While this won't make you feel better: Welcome to Club Frustration.

Evangelism has been changed from seeking and saving the lost to inviting seekers to church.  Here is what you can do to try to effect change.

1. Burn a free copy of Hell's Best Kept Secret, give it to your pastor and say, "I heard this sermon and I thought it was pretty provocative.  Would you give it a listen and give me your take on it?"  Then see what his response is.

2. Start a class.  You may want to avoid the word "evangelism" as that does not draw the big numbers.  You can use our 8 week course or use the book "Way of the Master" as a book study.  See if God lights a fire.

3. Hand out cd's or Hell's Best Kept Secret to as many members as you can.

My church just won't get excited about evangelism, should I leave?

It depends.  Have you tried the above steps?  If not, try.  It really depends on the attitude of leadership.

If they are hostile, then it is unlikely you will get far.

If they are kind of lukewarm, hang in there.  Many faithful men and women have stayed and persisted and now the entire church is on fire for evangelism.

If your church is teaching the essentials, then you should be very slow and thoughtful about leaving.

I am trying to witness to a: Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu, homosexual, atheist, Muslim, evolutionist, hostile co-worker, family member, fill in the blank, how do I do it?

The same way you witness to anyone: Law to the proud, grace to the humble.

When do I stop witnessing to someone?

Only when they tell you to stop…and they mean it.  Otherwise, use common sense and never give up.

But the person I am witnessing to is as hard as a rock.

You don’t know that.  Don’t be overbearing, but stay faithful.  You have no idea what is going on inside.

I am horrified to witness to my family.

Witnessing to your family is indeed horrifying.  It is so wise to call your loved one up and invite them to lunch…your treat.  Tell them you have something important to talk to them about.  They will ask, “What?”  Don’t tell them.  Say, “It is nothing bad, but it is something so important, I want to tell you face to face.”  They will have ants in their pants til you meet.  They will actually beg you to tell them at lunch.

But my family knew I was a rascal.

They sure do.  Use that to your advantage.  Agree with them.  Apologize to them if necessary.  And then tell them why you are different today.

I can’t do witness to anyone, I am too afraid.

We know.  So are we.  So was Paul.  Just get started where you can.  Start by saying hi to everyone you see…that’s all.  That will get you used to talking to people.  Get some Gospel tracts and start leaving them in public places when nobody is looking.  Then summon up the courage to hand them to somebody.  Maybe you could put a tract into your phone bill when you return it.  Just get started and ask God to grow your courage.

FAQ’s about the radio program.
How did you guys meet?

About 8 years ago, Todd was hosting a show in Minneapolis and he received a press release about a Christian who was debating the president of the American Atheists…at the American Atheist Convention.  Todd thought that would be an interesting guest.  That guest was Ray Comfort.  Ray then spent the next 16 weeks joining Todd on the radio for an hour each week.  Throughout the years, Todd and Ray continued to do radio and events together.  Then they decided to do Way of the Master Radio.

Is Kirk the real deal?

Yes.

Who writes those goofy bits?

It depends.  Sometimes we write our own, sometimes we steal them from the internet (but we always try to give them credit).  The production is usually done by Joey or Hip Hop.

Why do you call Hip Hop, Hip Hop?

Cuz he likes Hip Hop.
